Before you install dBumper ...

Before you install the dBumper server, you will need to install some FREE applications that dBumper relies on. The prerequisite programs you need to install are...

• Microsoft .NET framework 2.0
  dBumper requires .NET framework version 2.0 or higher. If you already have .NET framework version 2.0 or higher, you can skip this step. Clicking the link above will open the page on Microsoft's site where you can download and install the Microsoft .NET framework 2.0.
• Microsoft MSXML 6.0
• Clicking the link above will open the page on Microsoft's site where you can download and install Microsoft Core XML Services. You will have several options when you get to this page. Download the file named msxml6.msi
• Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition
  Clicking the link above will install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Follow the instructions below when installing SQL Server Express
• Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express
  Clicking the link above will install SQL Server Management Studio Express.
• MySQL ODBC Connector
  Download this if you will be using dBumper to upload to your website. Clicking the link above will open the page where the ODBC connector is located.

Important Steps when installing SQL Server Express

When you get to this step, make sure you select "Mixed Mode"

On Configuration Options Screen (below) select the option “Add user to SQL Server Administrator Role”

On all of the other steps of installing SQL Server Express, just accept the defaults and click "Next"

Steps to set up SQL Server Express to work with dBumper

Open SQL Server Configuration Manager

It will open a window that looks like this...

Open SQL Server Surface Area Configuration

It will look like this...

Configure according to the instructions below.

Open SQL Server Configuration Manager again.

and follow the instructions below

Restart your computer before installing dBumper

dBumper SERVER	dBumper Client	dBumper Stand Alone
If you are going to use the client-server dBumper, install this on the machine that will act as the server	If you are going to use the client-server dBumper, install this on the machine(s) that will need to get connected the the machine acting as the server	If you are going to use dBumper on only one computer, install this one.
